What is the Barn Project 2026?
In 2024, I took a major step in my life: I was able to acquire my own property, in the village of Kiscsősz. This represents a significant milestone for me—as such a step does in anyone's life. In my case, however, it was not only about creating a home, but also about setting a long-held dream in motion.
Until now, wherever I lived, I always tried to create my own studio—whether in a separate room, a basement, or even within the living space. These solutions served the creative process well, but they also imposed limitations in many ways, such as lack of space, the absence of a permanent exhibition area, inadequate lighting conditions, and several other constraints.
The Barn Project 2026 is a larger-scale development involving official construction: the expansion of my existing home with a wooden barn structure of approximately 90–100 square meters. The project aims not only to establish a personal studio and gallery, but also to open it up to others and create a free, accessible creative space.
The architectural plans are being prepared by Tamás Pethes, architect.
The plans include organizing workshops, providing exhibition opportunities for other artists, and making the building and the surrounding property suitable for hosting concerts, performances, educational programs, camps, and artist residencies.
The investment has already begun; its current phase includes design and site preparation.
The completion may take place in two stages, the exact timing of which is not yet determined, but the goal is to finish as soon as possible. According to current plans, the courtyard will already serve as a concert venue in the summer season, as part of the Kiscsősz Barn Festival in July.
